Valves or True F1?

The cat-back comes in two versions. With the valved version you decide how loud the R8 is: valves closed, calm and refined in traffic, open, an aggressive high-pitched tone. The True F1 Race drops that choice and always sounds raw and high, from idle to the rev limiter. The valved version is made of titanium, the True F1 of T304 stainless steel or titanium. Both install as a cat-back, without removing the engine or replacing the factory manifolds. Specify the correct generation when ordering. The True F1 does not fit R8 V10 models from 2021 with factory OPF headers.

Free flow headers

The headers are brushed T304 stainless steel with equal-length primaries, mandrel bent and hand TIG welded. They are designed with 3D modelling to sit exactly where the originals do, with no cutting or welding. The result is sharper throttle response and a tone that builds all the way to the limiter. There are versions for the V10 and for the first-generation R8 V8, and they work with the factory exhaust as well as an aftermarket system. The cat-back is also available as a set with race free flow headers.

Valve controller

If you only want control over the factory valves, there is the plug-and-play valve controller with wiring harness and remote. It sets the valves fully open or fully closed, with no cutting or coding, and you can always return to stock. The end connector is supplied loose: first check for voltage with a test light and only then pin it.

Frequently asked questions

Which R8 do I need for which system?
The system fits the R8 V8 and V10. Specify the correct generation when ordering; each product lists its exact fitment. The True F1 cat-back does not fit R8 V10 models from 2021 with factory OPF headers.
Does the engine have to come out for installation?
No. The exhaust installs as a cat-back, without removing the engine or replacing the factory manifolds. The headers install without cutting or welding.
Can I control the factory valves without a new exhaust?
Yes, with the valve controller. It is plug and play, takes over all factory valve functions with open and closed positions, and also works with an aftermarket system that keeps the factory valve control. Nothing is cut or coded.
What comes with the exhaust?
The rear section in T304 stainless steel or titanium, clamps and mounting hardware, and the valve components on the valved systems. Exactly what is included depends on the chosen configuration.
