The exhaust system

The 3.5-inch equal length midpipe comes from the G80 M3 and has been adapted to the shorter wheelbase of the M2. With the valves open the straight six sounds unrestricted, with a firm overrun; closed, the volume drops back to roughly factory level. You operate the valves with the supplied remote or through the OEM valve control. In titanium the system is 25.3 kg lighter than stock, in stainless steel 11.8 kg.

Downpipes and fitting

The 400-cell catted downpipes are the same as for the M3 and M4 G8X and keep the catalytic converters. Use a new 70 mm S58 flange gasket when fitting them. Note: the chassis brace for the G80 and G82 does not fit the G87. There is a dedicated G87 version.

Frequently asked questions

Does anything on the car need to be modified?
Nothing needs to be permanently modified. The system uses the OEM mounting points and connects to the factory downpipes. If you fit only the midpipe, the original rear section is cut between the first and second dent.
Can the valves be controlled by the car?
Yes, optionally through the OEM valve control. By default it works with the supplied remote.
Which tip finishes are available?
Brushed, burnt, black, forged carbon, carbon 1x1 and, with titanium, natural titanium.
Do parts from an older Valvetronic system fit?
No. V1 and V2 generation systems do not fit the V3 cat-back system.
