For the BMW M3 (F80) and M4 (F82 coupé, F83 convertible) with the S55 twin-turbo straight six we supply the equal-length valved cat-back system, 400-cell catted downpipes and an extended chassis brace. Everything ships directly from the Valvetronic Designs factory in Boyertown, Pennsylvania.

The equal-length system

A 2.75-inch mid-section with H-pipe flows into a 3.5-inch axle-back with a four-chamber muffler. With the valves closed the sound level is close to stock; open, the S55 sounds freer and clearer, with less rasp high in the rev range. A separate controller is included, and pairing with the factory controls is also possible. No cutting or welding is needed, and the system is 9.8 kg lighter in stainless steel and 22.3 kg lighter in titanium.

Downpipes

The 400-cell catted downpipes give faster turbo spool and more mid-range torque while keeping the catalytic converters. They also fit the M2 Competition (F87C). With free flow or race downpipes you may hear rasp when shifting around 2,000 rpm; for the most refined tone Valvetronic recommends 200-cell high flow catalytic converters.

Chassis brace

For an exhaust with larger tubing, the extended chassis brace replaces the original one. It fits the F80, F82, F83 and F87C.

Is the system also available as a complete set with downpipes?
Yes. The equal-length system is available without downpipes and as a complete system with the 400-cell catalytic downpipes.
How much lighter is the system?
9.8 kg lighter in stainless steel and 22.3 kg lighter in titanium.
Can I go back to stock?
Yes. The system uses the factory mounting points and you can return to the original system at any time.
Does it work with the factory valve controls?
A separate controller is included; pairing with the factory controls is optional.
