BMW B58 Gen 1 and 2 Catted Downpipes (400 Cell)

The first and second generation of the B58 inline-six sit behind factory catalytic converters that pinch the flow. These downpipes take over that section with high-flow 400 cell catalysts, lower backpressure and give the turbo more air to work with. The catalysts still meet the EPA requirements.

Sound

Leave the factory exhaust behind them and the six gains mostly in depth, with the turbo easier to pick out. Put a Valvetronic system behind them and sharper crackles in the overrun come with it.

• High-flow 400 cell catalysts, far less restrictive than the factory units
• Faster turbo spool and more torque from half revs upwards
• Room for more boost than the factory catalysts allow
• Mandrel bent piping with smooth internal transitions
• Stainless steel that takes repeated heat cycles
• TIG welds for high exhaust temperatures and high boost
• Sensors in the stock positions
• Connects to the Valvetronic exhaust systems

Fitment and homologation

This set is made for the B58 in its first and second generation, so not for the later B58N. Valvetronic publishes no list of models and model years for this item, and we do not fill one in ourselves. Send us your chassis number, we will put it next to the factory data and confirm which generation is in your car before you order.
