Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 / S W167, C167 valved exhaust systems

For the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 and GLE 63 S (W167 and C167) with the M177 twin-turbo V8 we supply the titanium valved catback, on its own or with free flow race downpipes, and the free flow race downpipes as a separate set. Everything ships directly from the Valvetronic Designs factory in Boyertown, Pennsylvania.

Valved catback

The system is full 3-inch Grade 5 titanium and 23.5 kg lighter than the original exhaust. An OEM-style H-pipe keeps tone and flow in balance. With the valves closed the V8 sounds refined and restrained, comfortable on the motorway. Open, it turns aggressive and racy, in the character of the naturally aspirated AMG V8s. The electronic valves work with the factory controls and the system can be returned to stock.

Free flow race downpipes

On the M177 the catalytic converters sit right behind the turbos. The race downpipes delete those catalytic converters. Back pressure drops, the turbos build boost faster and the V8 sounds heavier, with clearly more sound on downshifts. The sensors stay in their original positions. These downpipes are intended for track use and do not meet emission requirements for public roads. You can order them as a separate set or together with the catback.

Frequently asked questions

Does this fit the GLE 63 Coupé (C167)?
The valved catback fits both the W167 and the C167. The separate downpipes list the W166 and W167. If you have a C167, e-mail us your chassis number and we will check it.
Do the valves work with the factory controls?
Yes. The electronic valves work with the factory controls, with OEM-style valve integration.
Are the catalytic converters kept?
The free flow race downpipes delete the catalytic converters and are intended for track use. The catback is also available without those downpipes.
Can I go back to stock later?
Yes. The catback can be returned to stock. The downpipes use the factory mounting points and can also be returned to stock later.
